Patient Transport

Air might otherwise entrain into the arterial tubing or embolize in the patient. The pressure bag will not function if it is not in the upright patient, so the provider will be unable to assess the patient's circulation. The pressure bag will not function as well if it is not in the upright position, causing increased risk of postoperative wound infection and myocardial ischemia. The pressure bag will depressurize if it is not in the upright position, causing inaccurate readings.
